Here you go Sydney brides... all the gorgeous gowns from Australian Bridal Fashion Week 2015. In an Australian first Wedding and Events of Australia (WEOA) launched an inaugural event for designers to share their latest creations to the local market at the Australian Technology Park on 5-7th June, 2015. We were there, met with the designers, and were pampered with VIP treatment and front row seats.

It takes a huge effort from organisers, publicists, designers, photographers and events crew to put on such a spectacular event. The industry was abuzz when we gathered to watch the unveiling of the catwalk (you'll see a pic of Adam and I below against the ABFW photo wall!). The event provided a wonderful opportunity for industry members to network, see a selection of amazing designers all on the same catwalk and purchase gowns for their boutiques.
We spoke to founder Jessica Eckford-Aguliera before and after the event so we could share with you the insiders secrets into the running of such a large scale event and how it can help future brides.
"ABFW will help not just help our couturiers and brides it will benefit the industry as a whole. Having couturiers from all over the world all in the one place at the one time will give everyone the chance to see their incredible work close up. You will see collections long before they hit the boutiques and meet designers over a personal one on one consultation', said Jessica.
The individual pop up boutiques gave brides to chance to browse through some of the finest local and international gowns, bridesmaids dresses, flower girl couture, shoes and beauty options, all in one place. It also offered a unique opportunity for brides to talk first hand with gown designers and try on their creations over the course of the weekend.
We asked Jessica about what she felt was the biggest highlights of the weekend. "The runway shows were the highlight for me. Knowing how much our couturiers put into their collections and then seeing the final result was a very special moment." Also, "seeing the emotion from the couturiers after their runway shows, a fabulous beauty bar where guests could get pampered, stylish spaces from our talented fashion experts and the finale show".
When asked what she was most proud of, Jessica said: " The event as a whole, everyone that participated, my stag and my incredible husband who never stopped believing in me. The time spent on creating such a huge production paid off."
Models graced the catwalk elegantly, male models dressed as groomsmen and won over the hearts of all the brides in the audience. It was a theatrical show of fashion, love and romance. Congratulations ABFW. We hope to see you all there again next year.
