What is the most polite time to exit your wedding? Do you leave the reception well before all your guests or do you say your goodbyes after the very last song? Our experts believe that you should follow a few steps before making your grand departure.
Do not leave more than an hour before the end of the reception. The ideal time is 15 minutes before all your guests as it will be their cue to get their things and head to the after party or home.
Have a big final goodbye ritual, such as asking all your guests to stand in a big circle and you walk around and say thank you and goodnight to each guest individually. This can be a lot of fun for your guests and will make sure you get to speak quickly to each guest on the way out. Give it 15 minutes to get around the circle of guests.
You could also have a farewell tunnel and ask your guests to hold their hands up together and you and your new husband walk underneath and wave goodbye to everyone. You may also like to give your guests sparklers, glitter or confetti.
